Since the week before Christmas, we have been remodeling our basement. Actually, just finishing it. I am not sure what possessed me to start such a huge project right before Christmas. (Maybe I took too many of my "happy pills" in one day.) Let me rephrase that - we HIRED someone to finish it for us. If there is anyone reading this that needs their basement refinished, let me tell you - Suncrest Construction rocks. It was headed by two guys - Reed and Sergio. They have just become an added fixture to our family and our house for the last 2 months. These guys are great. And our basement has turned out far better than I had ever dreamed. We should be finished this week. I can't wait! I finally got my camera to "dry out" from Haylee's little "experiment" so I will be taking pictures once the work is completed and I will post them.
We added a family room with a kitchenette (which has turned out almost as many cabinets as our upstairs kitchen) and a gas fireplace - a total of 3 new bedrooms and a bathroom. The girls now have a dedicated playroom. I can't wait to get all of the toys out of every room in our house and have one room for their domain. I actually have my own room as well - I designed a "scrap studio" that I am ITCHING to get set up. And of course, Scott has what he fondly refers to as his "Man Cave". For now, it will just be a room that he can study in but for Valentines Day I got him a couple Dallas Cowboys framed posters he can put on his wall. It is actually the biggest bedroom. How did that work out? I guess with so much estrogen in the house, he needed a place for himself.
It will feel good to get this all done. Especially get rid of all the dust. The chaos is driving me crazy!
